Flying - I hold a Private Pilot's license, plus Night Rating and IMC.  I am a member of Exeter Flying Club, based at our local airport.  I fly Cessna C172 or Piper PA-28.  I usually fly with other club members.  We fly-out for lunch to one of the private airfields in South-West England or Wales.  We share the flying; one person flies out and someone else flies back.  Occasionally we venture for a weekend away, maybe Jersey, Guernsey, Ireland or France.  Jan comes with me sometimes, if the weather is fine.  There is more about flying on my Flying Page

Family History - I enjoy researching family history.  I like to establish links and exchange information with other researchers.  My research findings are in the Family History Database.  There are some pictures of our ancestors on the Family History page.  Here are my grandparents, taken about 1903 at the Beachfield Hotel, Penzance. 

James Carter Sharp from Hove and Bertha Mary Mabel Berry from Brighton. They are at the front nearest the photographer. He was a wine importer, but died of TB in 1907.  My grandmother lived until 1967 and  I remember her with affection.
